Describe Feature
Currently, if a table in Sigma contains groupings, a downloaded CSV will also be grouped. This proposed option would allow for ungrouped export, as well -
What is the use case?
We have many users who download tables to work with outside of Sigma. The export nicely looks like the grouped table in Sigma; however, those users have to spend extra time filling in the missing values before they can work with the table. -
How often would this feature be used?
According to the feedback from our customers, very very often. -
What is the impact of this feature on your organization?
This is not a giant hurdle for us, but it would make our customers much happier.
@AdamD - I just worked this out with the help of Sigma Support last week!
The solution involves setting up the table in the expanded visualization the way you want the download to appear, then using Download Underlying Data to get the file with all the columns filled down for each grouping.
The hurdle here is that we don’t want them to be able to “Download Underlying” since it would expose the users to columns in the data we don’t want them to see.
You can hide them in the expanded view
