Describe Feature
Currently it is possible to drag and drop elements directly in the edit window, and to move sections up or down one position at a time in the Page Overview. It would be much more convenient to be able to do this by grabbing the element/section in Page Overview and moving it up/down the list to the new position desired. The ability to multi-select items and move them as a group would be a bonus! -
What is the use case?
Open workbook in Edit mode
Expand Page Overview
Click and drag Section(s) or Element(s) to move to new position
-OR-
toggle “Move” mode in Page Overview to display Grab Handles to reposition the item(s) -
How often would this feature be used?
Constantly -
What is the impact of this feature on your organization?
More efficient editing of workbooks
Any chance this is in the works?
Another helpful bit would be the ability to collapse the section elements in the Page Overview. I have some workbook pages with lots of sections and moving them around would be easier if I could see the section list without all the elements visible.
Hey @zwhitcomb, I haven’t heard anything specific, but I know a request ticket has been logged (you can get added to be notified if you aren’t already). There’s also a road map presentation at the next Sum!
Hi @data_katrina!
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make the 2/9 SUM - it conflicts with my son’s school winter concert.
How do I get added to the request ticket for notifications?
Ah, no worries! We post the recording to that SUM post after if you want to check it out.
To be notified, message the help chat and say something about how you heard a ticket has been created for better navigation on the page overview and you’d like to be notified of updates, and they’ll take it from there
Hi @zwhitcomb I added you to the ticket and you should be getting an email shortly confirming the same!
We are also working on a larger overhaul to the layout grid system that I think you will find much more enjoyable to use! Keep an eye out for this on the Whats New In Sigma page!
