I need to join two datasets via a cross-join but I don’t see that as an option in the Sigma Join menu. Is such join even an option?
Hi Darien, i hit this issue not too long ago. A cross join meaning that the dataset result is has A x B rows, each row in A paired with every row in B with no limitations.
To do this you use the regular “left join” setting, but instead of choosing a column to match on, just do a “Join on formula” on both sides and provide the same constant value, i.e. numeral 1.
Then, every row in both datasets has the same value
1 for the new “temporary” column; so every row matches every other row.
Thanks @eve! That’s very creative. It works for me.
